From Tromsø to Skjervøy at sea

Yesterday the weather was great, so we took the opportunity to navigate our boats from Tromsø to Skjervøy. This is a 55 NM long journey (1 nautical mile = 1852 meters) which took us 3 hours to complete. We followed the same scenic passage that the famous Hurtigruten ships do daily basis. The sea conditions were favourable through most of the trip. Except crossing Ullsfjord we had a rough patch (between 21 & 36 NM) where even on the nicest day you cannot avoid those nasty little short waves…
But the spectacular view of the approaching Lyngen Alps gave us hope that the bouncing and shaking will be over soon and the calmer waters are await. Luckily the wind was blowing from North so we had shelter the rest of our trip on the South side of Arnøya.
We arrived to Skjerøy late afternoon but still at daylight just right before it started raining.
I made a short video with a great music track to summarize our journey. Enjoy!
P.S.: After we tied up the boats I jumped into my car and drove back to Tromsø straight away which is a 4 hours drive and it was pouring rain from start to finish...But this is another story. 🙂
